 Vice President of the Southern National Assembly, Head of the Research and Decision Support Center of the Southern Transitional Council, Lutfi Shatara highly praised the spontaneous civil-society mobilization and action against carrying of firearms in the southern capital Aden, especially after an increase in the number of crimes, including murders.

"Long live Aden, the city of peace." Shatara wrote on his official Twitter account to show his solidarity with "the societal gesture of protest against bearing arms and denunciation of its heavy consequences on innocent lives."

Shatara noted that "The civilization of Aden has voluntarily mobilized the people (men, women and children) to raise their voices and make their NO against carrying arms in the city."


Shatara concluded his words by praying "May Almighty God bless you all and protect Aden and its people from any harm."
