Houthi gunmen have staged a violent raid on a peaceful gathering of Baha’is in Yemen's Sanaa on Thursday, the Baha’i International Community said in a statement.
At least 17 people, including five women were detained and forcibly disappeared in the latest blow to a severely persecuted religious minority in Yemen.
The statement called for the immediate release of those arrested, accusing the pro-Iran rebels of persecuting religious minorities.
The Baha’is in Yemen have suffered years of arrests, imprisonments, interrogations and torture, and public incitements to violence at the hands of the Houthis who have also seized Baha’i-owned properties.
