Southern Resistance Forces thwarted on Wednesday, an attack launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia on their positions in the north of Abyan governorate.
Military field officer told the local press that the Houthi militants tried to sneak into the locations under the control of the southern forces in a bid to regain lost ground on Thra front.
The source noted that fierce clashes, involved the use of heavy and medium weapons, erupted between the two sides following the attack.
The members of the Southern Resistance managed to drive back the Houthi rebels, the same source affirmed.
