A senior al-Qaeda leader was killed by a U.S. drone strike in al-Arqoob area of Abyan governorate on Saturday, local news websites reported.
Local sources said that the unmanned drone targeted al-Qaeda leader, Saad al-Atiqi al-Awlaqi while he was among the fighters of the pro-Hadi Brotherhood's militias (Islah Party) in al-Arqoob area.
The US drone attack came three days after a similar took place in Shuqra where a number of al-Qaeda members were killed by an American drone while fighting in the ranks of the Islah militias.
