Thunderstorms, strong winds and heavy rainfall pounded on Saturday, Aden city amid power blackout. The stormy weather was created by a low air pressure flowed from the Indian Ocean.
The torrential rain impeded freedom of circulation and of movement on main transportation routes and most of the roads. The high winds caused destruction, uprooting a number of lampposts and trees and crashing many roadside billboards.
Rainwater accumulated on roads and in streets of all the districts of Aden as landslides affected many areas, rendering most of them impassable, in particular on the road to Crater.
Earlier, the Office of Public Health and Population in Aden ordered the main hospitals and health facilities to be constantly on the alert in case of any emergency situation due to the torrential rain.
