The Iran-backed Houthi putschist militia targeted the locations under the control of the brigades of al-Amalika, using different types of weapons, in al-Jabaliya area of al-Tuhita district in the south of Hodeidah.
Military field sources reported that the Houthi rebels stationed on the outskirts of al-Jabaliya repeatedly shelled the area using heavy mortar rounds.
The pro-Iran Houthi militants seriously scaled up its military operations by raining down the positions of al-Amalika with Katyusha rockets for the second time in a matter of days, the same sources said, adding that the Houthis also used heavy machine guns and snipers.
The Houthi militia has been trying in vain to advance with a view to seizing control of the coastal area of al-Jabaliya, since the U.N.-mediated ceasefire went into effect last December.
