Member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Lutfi Shatara said that the legitimate government wants a UN envoy who goes well with its size and to the extent that it fits with its failure.
Shatara wrote on his Twitter account that "when the war broke out the UN diplomat, Jamal Benomar left Yemen following a protest by the legitimacy against his performance, despite the fact that one of the godfathers of the Peace and National Partnership Agreement (PNPA) the Yemeni government signed with the Houthi movement on 21.09.2014, was the Yemeni former prime minister and diplomat, Abdul Karim Ali Al-Iryani."
"Later the legitimate government cast doubts on the validity and fairness of the former Special Envoy for Yemen (2015-2018), Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed and today, the government wants to get rid of the current UN envoy Martin Griffiths." Shatara added.
