 President of the Southern Transitional Council, Major General Aidroos al-Zubaidi and his deputy sheikh Hani ben Brik inaugurated on Monday, the seventh day of the holy month of Ramadan, a new satellite television service that broadcast from inside the capital Aden under the name AIC to convey the voice of the Southerners to the whole world.

Spokesman for the Southern Transitional Council, Nizar Haitham said that the newly opened AIC satellite TV channel is meant to play a greater role in promoting the southern media presence.

"AIC is specialized in reporting news and political analysis and will be followed soon by the inauguration of another satellite TV channel called AIC2 which will be dedicated to youth, culture and art." Haitham added, revealing that a third channel to represent the voice of the Southerners to the Arab world will be launched too.

The member of the STC Presidency, Lutfi Shatara tweeted that "the President of Council, al-Zubaidi inaugurated the satellite TV channel that his deputy sheikh Hani has promised and made every effort with the team on the ground, headed by the bright young man Ahmed Al Sayed, to make it a reality."

AIC satellite TV channel is now broadcasting on the Nilesat satellite, at the frequency of 12188 H 27500.
