Member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Lutfi Shatara said that "Yemen's Houthi movement commits suicide at the Southern borders where most of its fighters lost their lives in al-Dhale and the largest number of its military commanders and militants were captured there."

Shatara wrote on his Facebook wall that who lured the Houthis to al-Dhale province, on the one hand he wanted to show the weakness of their fighters and their lack of determination and bravery in addition to the shortage of military supplies such as arms, munitions and equipment, but on the other hand he wanted to reveal to the world the power of the Southerners' political and military command, represented by the Southern Transitional Council, the leader Aidroos al-Zubaidi and his deputy Hani Ben Brik and their major influence on the joint forces that consist of the Security Belt, al-Amalika brigades, 1st Ranger Regiment and Southern Resistance that demonstrate remarkable courage, sacrifice and heroism of epic proportions along with military professionalism at all levels.
Shatara added that the International Crisis Group president Robert Malley said it best in an ICG report released two months ago, after a visit to Aden "The South will restore its state, by peaceful means or by war".

"Al-Dhale is the title of victory for all the South and its other fronts, whoever tries to undermine the southern project or even comes nearer to open up military fronts, Al-Dhale will be a burial ground for his soldiers and his illusory projects." Shatara warned.
