In a serious military escalation, the Iran-backed Houthi coupist militia launched rocket attacks on Sunday, on several locations under the control of al-Amalika brigades in al-Tuhita district, south of Hodeidah on Sunday, the seventh day of the holy month of Ramadan.
Military field sources reported that the Houthi artillery units rained down the positions of al-Amalika with Katyusha and M72 LAW rockets in addition to heavy artillery, mortar and B-10 shells during Sunday daytime hours.
The same sources said that the Houthi militants also used heavy machine guns and snipers to directly attack al-Amalika brigades in al-Tuhita and other regions of al-Hodeidah, adding that one soldiers of al-Amalika was killed and three others were injured as a result.
The Houthi attack and violations took place on the contrary to their claims of withdrawal from Hodeidah.
