The UAE has commissioned a new fishing slipway in Hissi Salem district, Mocha, in Yemen’s Red Sea Coast, bringing to 24 the number of fishing facilities revamped by the country to ease the suffering of the Yemeni people.
Falling in line with the country's aid programmes in the Year of Tolerance, the solar-powered facility will benefit 720 fishermen in Hissi Salem, Dar Al Shoga', Al Khadraa, and Al Qanziya districts.
"The new facility will help improve the life of 5,000 people as part of the UAE endeavours to ease the suffering of the Yemenis through the launch of sustainable development and service projects to help them regain a normal life," said Mohamed Al Shazli, the local authorities' representative in Mocha.
Yemeni fishermen have hailed the development and affirmed it is another step forward created by the UAE to improve their living standards.
