At least 70 Houthi militants were killed on Friday during battles with national army in the southern province of Al-Dhale, the Yemeni Ministry of Defense's official website 'September Net' reported.
Fierce clashes broke out after the Houthi rebels attempted to attack army’s positions in the north of Morais district, but were repelled and forced to flee.
30 militia elements were killed including a ground leader known as Abu Hamza and many others injured during the clashes.
Moreover, the national army targeted gatherings of Houthi militia with heat-seeking missiles in the area of Ya’ees in the same district.
At least 40 Houthi militiamen were killed and a number of their combat vehicles were destroyed.
