Al-Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout held on Wednesday, a military parade to mark the 3rd anniversary of the liberation of al-Mukalla and the districts of Sahel Hadramout from the grip of al-Qaeda terrorist organization (AQAP) that occupied their regions for more than a year in 2015.
During the ceremony, the governor of Hadramout and Commander of the Second Military Region, Major General Faraj Salmeen Al-Bahssani pronounced a speech in which he conveyed the congratulations of the province to the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi on the 3rd anniversary of the liberation of al-Mukalla and Sahel Hadramout.
Al-Bahssani highly valued the a courageous position of the Hadrami people who rejected al-Qaeda's presence in their land, reminding of the brave call for the liberation of al-Mukalla launched by the political, military, security and social figures, religious scholars and local community organizations and the great sacrifices made by the martyrs of Hadramout.
Al-Bahssani expressed his appreciation to the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for their support in the liberation of al-Mukalla and the districts of Sahel Hadramout and their continued support for the homeland in general.
Al-Bahssani also hailed the key role of the Hadrami Elite Forces that stood in the face of terror and made the great victory which will be ingrained forever in the memory of the national history.
The governor stressed the importance of developing the infrastructure for achieving economic growth and integration, reviewing the main service and development projects achieved during the past three years, including the natural gas power plant for Wadi Hadramout, building new roads and new drinking water wells among other, in addition to the great development witnessed in the sectors of education and health.
