President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), Aidroos Qassem al-Zubaidi received on Thursday at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Yemen, Richard Oppenheim.
The meeting discussed the latest political and economic situation in liberated areas of the war-torn country and the PLC's efforts to enhance security and stability, and endeavors made by the power-sharing government to revitalize the economic situation and improve basic services, in addition to the efforts of the United Nations and the international community to extend the truce in Yemen.
Al-Zubaidi made it clear that it is useless to talk about the extension of the UN-mediated ceasefire amid the current Houthis' intransigence, calling on the international community to take a serious stance in order to force the pro-Iran militants to fully and immediately implement their obligations.
The two men also touched on the victory achieved in Abyan over the terrorist groups by the code-named military operation Arrows of the Orient and the efforts exerted by Shabwa's local authority led by the governor, Awadh bin al-Wazir al-Awlaki to normalize life and maintain security in the province.
