 The time has come for the Presidential Leadership Council to immediately appoint a new negotiating team and eliminate the old tools of Yemen's legitimacy that used to carry the negotiating file and politically communicate with international envoys, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Vice-President of the National Assembly for Financial Control and Inspection, Lufti Shatara said in a statement published on his Twitter official account.

Shatara explained that "Any negotiation with the Houthis on extending the UN-mediated truce can only be achieved through new faces representing the Presidential Leadership Council."

In a previous statement, Shatara said that "The Presidential Leadership Council was made to formulate a political or military solution regarding the Houthis and not to aggravate the situation in the South."

"The current transitional phase is meant to mobilize efforts against the Houthis." Shatara added.

Yesterday, the Presidential Leadership Council issued a Republican Decree naming new members of the government, including defense, oil, electricity and public works ministers.
