General Secretariat of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) warned of attempts to target the Aden-based Central Bank and relocate its headquarters to Yemen's Houthi-held capital, Sana'a.
In its meeting in Aden on Saturday, the STC's General Secretariat, under the chairmanship of its Assistant Secretary General, Fadl al-Jaadi, considered the relocation of the Central Bank headquarters to Sana'a under the control of the pro-Iran rebels as a violation of the state sovereignty and the legitimacy of the power-sharing government that stemmed from the Riyadh Agreement.
Last week, the STC Presidency urged the government to speed up restructuring of the central bank in Aden and warned against suspicious moves abroad carried out by some officials of the bank in conjunction with endeavors meant to unify local currency in Aden with the Houthi-run bank in Sana'a.
