Hundreds poured into Nisab district in the center of Shabwa governorate on Saturday, to join a sit-in that was held in protest against the Houthi-Muslim Brotherhood plan to occupy the territories of the oil-rich province.
The protestors shouted slogans against Islah militia, Yemen's military wing of Muslim Brotherhood and demanded the departure of the Brotherhood-linked governor Mohammed Bin Adeow.
They held the Brotherhood-linked local authorities responsible for the tragic situation in the province, in particular for the total breakdown of essential public services.
