Houthi-laid landmines killed and injured 910 people including women and children in Aljawf province in northern Yemen in the period from October 2018 to August 2021.

The Committee of Rights and Media in Aljawf said in a report issued on Saturday that the Houthi militia continue to plant landmines in Aljawf as in all other Yemeni governorates and scores of women and children have been killed by landmine explosions. The report said 25 houses, 9 farms and 97 cars have been harmed by the landmines.

According to the National Mine Action Center and the Saudi demining program MASAM, the Houthis have planted 30 thousand landmines in Aljawf, of which thousands are still undiscovered, posing a threat to civilians.
