The defeated ones on the ground can't triumph by carrying out missile and drone attacks from the air, the member of the Presidency of Southern Transitional Council (STC ), Vice-President of the National Assembly for Control and Inspection, Lufti Shatara said in a tweet a few hours after the Houthi strikes hit the al-Anad military base in Lahj, about 60 km north of the southern port city of Aden.

Shatara said it loud that "The victor will not give up his land and bury his cause.", reiterating the southern position "We say it a thousand times; After 2015, the South will not be ruled by Sana'a again."

"Whoever believes that his missiles and drones will discourage us, he is in a delusional state." Shatara said, affirming "The southern state is coming back and this hysteria and atrociousness of killing can't hold us out."

At least 30 soldiers were killed and 60 wounded in the Houthi strikes on Sunday, the death toll may still rise.

In 2019, The Houthis launched a drone strike at the same base during a military parade, killing at least six military personnel, including a high-ranking intelligence official.
