Southern Judges' Club (SJC) declared its secession from the Supreme Judiciary Council and the formation of a supreme body charged with managing judicial affairs in the southern governorates.

The newly-formed supreme body consists of chiefs of courts and appellate prosecutors' offices, in addition to members of inspection and the SJC.

In a statement issued last Sunday and obtained by Aden Press, the Southern Judges' Club announced partially lifting the suspension of the activities of all the southern courts and prosecution offices in a coordinated move to ease the suffering of the people.

According to the statement, by next Sunday, the judges shall thereafter serve on Sunday and Monday of each week to simplify and accelerate the processing of significantly delayed cases brought before the courts.
