Thousands rally against Yemeni occupation in Seiyun

Thousands of people took to the streets to hold a huge rally in Seiyun, the largest city of Wadi Hadramout on Thursday, on the occasion of the 27th ominous anniversary of the Yemeni occupation of the South.
The demonstrators, who came from all the districts of Hadramout (Sahel and Wadi) raised the national flag of the South and portraits of the southern leaders to express their full support for the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and the Riyadh Agreement, but also in protest against the presence and arbitrary practices of the Muslim Brotherhood's militias in the oil-rich province and against the Yemenization of Hadramout.
The rally issued a statement on behalf of the participants to reflect the demands of the people in Hadramout.
The statement affirmed Hadramout's unequivocal rejection of holding the meetings of the (expired) Yemeni parliament (controlled by Muslim Brotherhood) in their city of Wadi Hadramout or in any other southern region.
They demanded the removal of the headquarters of the first military region and its affiliated forces from Wadi-Hadramout, accusing the Brotherhood-linked Yemeni army in Hadramout of encouraging killing, banditry and kidnapping incidents.
They appealed the Arab Coalition to ensure full implementation of the Riyadh Agreement (signed by the Yemeni legitimacy and STC) which its military side stipulates the withdrawal of the forces of the first military region from Wadi Hadramout for the fight against the Iran-backed Houthi militias on the frontlines and handing over the security file to the Hadrami Elite Forces on par with the other regions of Hadramout (Sahel).
The statements vigorously condemned the violent suppression of
Wednesday's peaceful protests in Shabwa
and the acts of terrorism committed against civilians in Abyan.
They demanded the release of kidnapped and detained Southerners in Brotherhood-run prisons, in particular in Shabwa governorate.
The participants called on the Arab coalition states led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to support the will of the southern people and to end the war with a fair solution for the peoples in Yemen and the South.
