 The attack conducted on the Security Belt Forces in Abyan governorate aimed at sending the situation back to square one, the member of the presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Fadl al-Jaadi said in a tweet.

Al-Jaadi affirmed that the incidents that took place in Abyan are armed clashes that meant to get things back to square one, surpass the Riyadh Agreement and conditions for calming the situation and undermine the consensus that led to the forming of the power-sharing government.

On Tuesday, The militias of Islah party, the arm of Muslim Brotherhood organization within Yemen's legitimacy, launched an attack on the locations under the control of the southern armed forces in Abyan.

The spokesman for the Abyan axis, Captain Muhammad al-Naqib affirmed that the southern armed forces repulsed an attack launched on their positions by the Islah's militias in Khubar al-Maraqesh of Khanfar district in the southwest of Abyan.
