Heavy armed clashes erupted in the north of al-Dhale governorate on Saturday night, between the southern forces and the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.

Military field sources reported that the clashes took place in the area of Hajar and the two sides used several types of weapons, including heavy ones.

The same sources explained that the Houthis shelled the liberated locations and the southern forces in turn responded to the sources of fire.

Cautious calm had prevailed on all al-Dhale's fronts, in particular in al-Fakher and Habil Abdi before the eruption of the new clashes.

Last Tuesday, the southern army and the joint forces launched a large-scale attack on the Houthi-held positions near the governorate of Ibb, the official spokesman for al-Dhale axis, Fouad Jabari said.

The successful attack was supported by heavy artillery shelling, Jabari affirmed, adding that the forces managed to inflict heavy casualties and material losses on the pro-Iran militants.
