A senior Houthi field commander was killed in an infiltration attempt launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia into the positions of the joint forces on the West Coast.

Well-informed sources affirmed that the Houthi commander Major General Abu Al-Batoul Al-Aqhoumi was killed in recent armed clashes erupted in the south of Hodeidah when the Iranian-backed militia tried desperately to sneak into the liberated areas.

The Iran-trained commander was one of the closest associates to the leader of Yemen's Houthi rebel group, the same sources said, adding that Al-Aqhoumi's death is a new painful blow to the pro-Iran militants.

It's worth mentioning that a number of senior Houthi commanders along with hundreds of their fighters were recently killed in failed attacks on the frontlines in several areas of Hodeidah.
