The people of al-Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout launched on Monday, a campaign of civil disobedience and staged demonstrations in the city to protest against systematic corruption and failure to provide basic public services, in particular the daily power outages.
Dozens of shops closed in response to a call launched by protesters in al-Mukalla city. They also called on all the people of Hadramout's districts to take to the streets in a major rally over the significant deterioration of basic services.
The deterioration of services and continuous power cuts triggered widespread street protests in the city. The protests went on to demand the removal of the governor of Hadramout, Faraj Al-Bahsani.
It's worth mentioning that people in all the liberated governorates, including Aden suffer from the deterioration of basic services such as water and electricity.
