 The head of the negotiating team of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Dr. Nasser Al-Khabji met in the Saudi Arabia's capital on Tuesday, with the Deputy Chief of British diplomatic mission to Yemen, Simon Smart.

During the meeting Al-Khabji reviewed the most important steps taken by the STC to accelerate the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, in addition to the issues that need to be addressed such as the separation between the fighting forces in Abyan governorate, redeployment of forces to counter the Houthi threats, forming a new government with equal representation to alleviate the suffering of the people, provide basic services and salaries, address currency collapse and put an end to systematic collective punishment in the South.

He also reaffirmed the STC's adherence to peace, dialogue and Riyadh Agreement, highly appreciating the Saudi pivotal role in implementing the Riyadh Agreement, unifying the anti-Houthi forces and supporting the country to address the dire economic situation.

For his part, the British Deputy Ambassador commended the recent success made in implementing the terms of the agreement, stressing the need for more effort to accelerate the implementation.
