President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, Aidroos Qassem al-Zubaidi met at his residence in Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh on Sunday, with the Ambassador of the United States of America to Yemen, Christopher Henzel.

The meeting discussed the STC's efforts to activate and accelerate the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement with a view to unifying the various factions on the front line against the pro-Iran Houthi militias and all the hostile projects that target the security and stability of the region, highly appreciating the key role played by Saudi Arabia in this regard.

Al-Zubaidi touched on the tragic humanitarian situation in the liberated regions of the South, in particular delaying the payment of wages and salaries of civil and military servants, the significant deterioration of basic services and the collapse of the local currency among others.

Al-Zubaidi deeply appreciated the peace efforts being made by the United States to end the war in the region.

For his part, the American Ambassador affirmed that his country looks forward to the success of the Saudi efforts towards the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement and the formation of the new government in Aden, highly appreciating the positive role of the STC in this regard.
