A number of pro-Iran Houthi fighters were killed and others were injured by an explosive device in Hodeidah, Al-Amalika Media Centre reported Monday.

According to military field sources, the Houthis were trying to plant the explosive device on one of the roads that leads to al-Homainiya area in the west of Hays district, but it accidentally exploded, killing and injuring a number of them.

The death of Houthis by their own explosive devices occurred several times in Hodeidah, in particular when they try to plant landmines on roads, residential areas and farms in a bid to protect themselves and to prevent the advance of the joint forces.
