In response to the intervention of the leaderships of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and to bring their endeavours to fruition, the Southern Transitional Council (STC) renounced the self- administration of the South declared on 25 April 2020, the STC's spokesman, Nazar Haitham said in a press release issued in the early hours of Wednesday.
He explained that the goals for which the self-rule was established have been attained - to form a new government with equal representation from South and North within 30 days, appoint a governor and security director for Aden and relocate the military forces to the frontlines.
Haitham stressed the need to deepen the STC partnership with the Arab Coalition on all the political, military, economic and security levels with a view to jointly fighting the Iranian interference and terrorist groups, in addition to securing the international navigation waterway.
