The 7th of July 1994, the day of the occupation of the South and the fall of thousands of martyrs, the Vice president of the Southern Transitional Council, sheikh Hani Ben Brik said on Tuesday.
"On that day, the world had stood watching the hand-over of the South to the forces of darkness and terrorism in a political deal characterized by the absence of human being and attendance of opportunism." he indicated in his tweet today.
"An entire country was wiped out to be shared by thieves who know nothing about the value and dignity of the human being." he added.
Sheikh Hani concluded his tweet by saying that the Southerners transformed the 7th of July (2007) into a revolution that can only be subsided by the independence.
Earlier, activists, journalists and politicians took to the social media to launch a hashtag campaign under the title # The South Victory After Collapse in conjunction with the 26th anniversary of the invasion of the South by the Yemeni occupation forces in the summer of July 7, 1994.
The organizers of the hashtag said that "the fateful day of July 7 increases the Southerners' certainty of the fact that the Unification of Yemen is dead and gone."
