 Fresh clashes have erupted in Abyan governorate on Sunday, between the southern armed forces and the pro-government Brotherhood's militias (Islah Party).

Military field souurces reported that in flagrant defiance and violation of the truce and the Riyadh Agreement, the pro-government militias of the Muslim Brotherhood carried out massive attacks against the locations under the control of the southern armed forces on the outskirts of Zinjibar and Sheikh Salem of Abyan province.

The spokesman for the Abyan axis, Captain Muhammad al-Naqib told the press that the southern armed forces also thwarted an infiltration attempt into Ji'ar city where Islah's militias suffered heavy human and material losses.

Al-Naqib called on the Arab Coalition to take a clear stance on the continued violations of the truce and Riyadh Agreement by the Brotherhood's militias.

Al-Naqib revealed in his statement that more heavily armed reinforcements will be sent from Aden and Lahj to support the southern forces in their fight against the Muslim Brotherhood's militias and Al-Qaeda in Abyan.

On Friday, a senior military commander of the Brotherhood's militias was killed along with a number of his companions in an infiltration attempt into Qarn al-Kalassi area in Abyan.

In another development, the southern forces managed to completely liberate last Wednesday, the area of Wadi Sala in Abyan governorate from the grip of the pro-government Brotherhood's militias and Al-Qaeda.
