The antagonists of the South are crumbling before the power of southern media and the proof of that is the killing and death threat made against southern journalists, the member of the STC Presidency, Vice-President of the National Assembly for Control and Inspection, Mr. Lufti Shatara tweeted.

He said that they described the southern media outlets as weak and ineffective, but a few days ago, they killed in cold blood one of the symbols of the southern journalism, the martyr Nabil Al-Qaiti and today, they went on to send a direct threat of physical liquidation to the southern journalists.

Shatara explained that these death threat text messages to kill them are not because they are Southerners, but because they carry and defend the cause of the South.

In a previous tweet Shatara said "Al-Qaiti exposed the lies of the enemies of the South and documented their defeats, as a consequence, they got rid of him not on the battlefield, but as usual in another cowardly operation."

The Southern and international photographer Nabil Al-Qaiti was assassinated on Tuesday by unknown gunmen who opened heavy fire and killed him near his house in Dar Saad on the outskirts of Aden.

After Al-Qaiti's assassination, a number of southern journalists received death threats and harassing messages.

The reporter of the Arabic-language television news network RT, Salah al-Aqel received on Friday, a direct threat of physical liquidation from an anonymous number for his media coverage of events in the South.

The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) condemned the killing of the journalist Nabil al-Al-Qaiti, calling on all parties to respect their obligation under the Geneva Conventions to protect journalists.
