President of the Southern Transitional Council and Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, Aidroos Qassem al-Zubaidi met at his residence in Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh on Friday, with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Yemen, Vladimir Dedushkin.
During the meeting, the two men discussed the latest political and military developments and issues related to the crisis in the country.
Al-Zubaidi reiterated the STC's position in support of peace and stability. He also stressed the need of addressing the humanitarian and service issues in parallel with the political and military file, highly appreciating the important role exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this regard.
For his part the Russian diplomat confirmed his country's firm support for the all the efforts exerted by Saudi Arabia, referring to the Riyadh Agreement that was signed between the STC and Yemen's government under the sponsorship of Saudi Arabia on 5 Nov. 2019, in broad Arab and international presence.
The meeting was attended by the members of the STC negotiating team, Dr. Nasser Al-Khabji, Ali Abdullah Al-Katheri, Abdul Rahman al-Yafei, Mohammed Al Ghaithi and Adel al-Shabhi.
