The Islah party, Yemen's Muslim Brotherhood wing within the legitimate government, continues its arrests, crackdown on the Southerners in regions under its control, in particular in Shabwa province where a number of southern officials, journalists, political activists and senior tribal figures have recently been arrested.

The Islah party has abducted the journalist Saleh Musawa in Shabwa governorate, local news websites and witnesses said on Wednesday.

Sources close to the journalist explained that Musawa, who is also the reporter of Huna Aden Radio, was abducted in Haban district while returning from Aden.

Two months before this incident, Musawa was taken to Islah's detention center in Shabwa for two weeks.

The Southern Transitional Council severely condemned in its statement today the abduction of Musawa by Yemen's Muslim Brotherhood, demanding his immediate and unconditional release.

The STC called on the human rights organizations and all the media outlets to condemn the barbaric practices of Islah's militia against the southern media workers and political activists.
