 Under the chairmanship of the General Secretary of the Southern Transitional Council, Ahmed Lamlas, the General Secretariat held its weekly meeting in Aden on Monday, in the presence of the newly appointed assistant secretary general, Major General Salem Abdullah Al-Soqatari.

The meeting discussed the political, military and security situations and latest developments on the southern arena, in particular the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, blaming the Yemeni government for the procrastination in implementing the terms of the Saudi-brokered deal, especially the withdrawal of the military forces from the southern provinces of Abyan and Shabwa.

The Secretary General called on the Saudi-led Arab Coalition forces to exercise more pressure on the Yemeni government to implement the signed agreement.

Furthermore, the General Secretariat expressed regret over the terrorist attack on the southern military personnel in Marib, Calling all the Southerners to return to the South, their homeland after what they've been through.

The Secretariat also touched on a number of topics listed on its agenda, in addition to the weekly status reports presented by the STC departments.
