At a time when UN envoy Martin Griffiths is working to bring about peace between warring sides in Yemen, and launch negotiations in Sweden in December, many saw his latest meeting with Houthi leader Mohamed Ali al-Houthi as a reaffirmation that the Houthis are not ready for peace.

Yemeni activists have been circulating a picture of the meeting, where an AK-47 rifle was placed under the table next to where al-Houthi was sitting. The picture has sparked a wide debate and questions over why it was necessary for the Houthi leader to bring a weapon to the meeting.
