Spokesman for the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Nazar Haitham stressed Council's attachment to the right of defending its land as well as supporting the efforts exerted by the Arab coalition to overcome the current problem and to unite and direct all efforts in the main battle against the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels.
Haitham reiterated in a press statement, the STC's total commitment to the content of the Riyadh Agreement, calling on the other side to do the same.
He announced the council's categorical rejection of all the attempts conducted by the Yemeni government to derail the signed agreement, such as the military build-up and mobilization towards the South, affirming the STC's ability to counter and deter any force that tries to go beyond the cross-lines.
Haitham demanded an immediate withdrawal of all the forces from the occupied areas of the South, warning against the attempts of the extremist Muslim Brotherhood to thwart the implementation of the agreement to serve the pro-Iran militia as it did in the North by creating an impasse in all the fighting fronts .
Haitham made it clear that the STC will always be with the Arab Coalition and the international community in the fight against terrorism in all of its forms and manifestations and whatever its sources.
