The Yemeni President Abdrabo M. Hadi met with the United Nations Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths in the Saudi capital Riyadh on Tuesday. The meeting was the first since the legitimate government and the Southern Transitional Council signed the Riyadh Agreement earlier this month.
The meeting focused on a number of topics and issues relating to the Yemeni crisis and peace process.
President Hadi appreciated the efforts exerted by the UN Envoy to break the deadlock and revive the peace process in light of the Houthi militia's reluctance to implement the terms of the Sweden Agreement.
Griffiths said in a tweet "We agreed on the need to continue making progress on all aspects of the Stockholm agreement to enhance confidence and to create a conducive environment for the political process."
He also praised President's Hadi's wisdom in signing the Riyadh Agreement with the Southern Transitional Council, expressing his hope for a resumption of the political process in Yemen.
