Security forces arrested on Monday, a number of subversive elements and persons wanted for security reasons in the capital Aden.
The Security Belt Forces carried out night raids on Sunday targeting gun groups in the districts of Daar Saad and Sheikh Othman.
The campaign was confronted by heavy machine-gun fire and medium weapons, resulted in hours of fierce fighting between the Security Belt Forces and the outlaws who believe to be supported by Islah party, the military wing of the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen.
The Security Belt managed to arrest the subversive elements in the early hours of Monday, the operation followed by a large-scale deployment to secure the areas where clashes took place.
Earlier on Sunday, the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held a
meeting in Aden during which it touched on the recent provocative acts by Islah-linked military commanders within Yemen's legitimacy, aiming at hindering the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement and dragging the South into a catastrophic war.
The STC Presidency called on the Arab Coalition to take serious steps to deal with such actions and breaches and to bind the other party to the Riyadh Agreement, stressing that the STC might be forced to face them in a decisive manner.
The Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Yemen's government signed a power-sharing deal on November. 5, which is known as the Riyadh Agreement under the sponsorship of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
