Amaafer district in Taiz governorate witnessed a large campaign of cleaning and litter collection sponsored by the Emirati Red Cresent and Brigade 35.

The campaign took place in the streets and allies in Alnashma – Almaafer district in a programme which aims to instruct the public on the importance of working collectively, to care about their surrounding environment as well as to combat diseases.

Mohamed Alsonwi pointed that the UEA Red Cresent supported a  campaign which included a number of similar projects.

On his part colonel Adnan Alhamadi commander of Brigade 35, who participated in the campaign, said that his participation comes within the campaign, which is supported by the UAE Red Cresent. Adding that the youth should initiate similar campaigns in the future to keep their city tidy and clean.

Dr Hisham Hamadi, the Red Cresent’s representative of the campaign sad that more than 200tons of litter have been pilling up which increased the spread of diseases and epidemics amongst the population.
The issue of pilled litter was a hot pending issue and a problem facing the local authority in Taiz because of the lack of public funds. The  deputy governor said

That is when the UAE Red crescent stepped in to lighten the burden on the local authority.

The people of Alneshma thanked the UAE’s government for its generosity and care in providing assistance for the campaign.
