Hundreds of Socotri women took to the streets of Hadibu on Monday, demanding the departure of the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated governor, Ramzi Mahrous.
The protestors shouted slogans against Islah party, the Yemeni branch of the Muslim Brotherhood and vented their rejection towards tampering with the archipelago's assets and the governor's attempts to drag Socotra into chaos for satisfying his party.
Hadibu has witnessed recently several mass demonstrations and rallies against Ramzi Mahrous and the presence of the Muslim Brotherhood, demanding them to leave the Island.
In a similar development, military tension increased in the Island with the return of the governor a few days ago along with pro-Islah forces from outside the archipelago, with a view to taking control of the government facilities.
