Heavy gun battles erupted late on Sunday night, between the southern joint forces and the Iran-backed Houthi militants in the northwestern part of Hajr area of al-Dhale fronts.
Military field sources reported that the fight broke out when the Iran-backed Houthi putschist militia launched an attack preceded by artillery shelling in a bid to achieve an advance and recapture lost ground on Hajr front in the north of al-Dhale.
The same sources added that the infiltration attempt was thwarted by the southern resistance, several Houthis were killed and injured as the rest fled from the battle leaving dead bodies scattered over the ground.
On the same track, the Houthis announced on Saturday that the commander of the 135th brigade, Brigadier General Adel Mokbel Ali Abu Asbae succumbed to his injuries after being shot in a desperate infiltration attempt into the locations under the control of the Southern forces in al-Dhale last Thursday.
It's worth mentioning that the southern forces managed to seize control of new areas in the northern parts of al-Dhale, inflicting heavy human and material losses on the pro-Iran militants.
