The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council decided to cancel the festivities to mark the 55th anniversary of the 14th of October Revolution due to the extremely harsh and difficult conditions of the Southerners in all the governorates.

The STC Presidency explained, during a meeting on Thursday evening, that the decision was made due to the current humanitarian situation in the South; currency depreciation, financial crash and other forms of collapses resulting from the government corruption and disastrous economic policies.

The STC Presidency also decided to transfer the funds meant for organizing the celebrations of the Revolution Day to the Council's relief and humanitarian activities that help thousands of impoverished families in many of the southern governorates.

The STC Presidency shall remain permanently in session in order to follow developments in the capital Aden and all the cities of the South to take the necessary measures, calling on the Southerners in all the governorates to receive directions from the respective local STC leaderships.
